This 1000 square foot retreat is derived from the study and exploration of origami. Pre-fabricated triangular aluminum panels combined with extreme textile technology allows the fabrication of a structure that is compact and lightweight for shipping, which can then be unfolded on site. The extreme textile membrane becomes rigid, creating a hard shell that, aided by the triangular panels that are patterned like origami folds, creating tension and compression, does not require additional supports.
