Mid-Century Modern meets new century aesthetic in this exciting renovation of a classic home. Restoring the atrium's original fountain, the addition of an anodized aluminum mesh curtain adds an element of privacy, as well as creating a lively sense of motion and changes in light as you move past the house. The Ipe wood garage doors and gate, with sandblasted glass above, create a sleek, unified look to the exterior. Two tones of concrete for the driveway and walkway form a "shadow line", highlighting the transition to the space under the overhang. Retaining walls of Corten steel and steel trowel plaster reclaim an unused garden space. Geometrical groupings of architectural plants add the finishing touch, without distracting from the clean lines of the home.
